Following the retirement of Walter Hecht in June 2016, we are delighted to welcome Heather Gray as Cosgrove’s Chief Executive.
Heather was previously the Director of the National Deaf Children’s Society for Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as being a Director with Bon Accord Care-an arm’s length company delivering adult social care services in Aberdeen.
Heather achieved considerable success in providing strong leadership at the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) in Scotland and Northern Ireland over the last four years. She has transformed NDCS overseeing the significant expansion of service provision by attracting substantial new income and raising its profile with the Scottish Government and developing new partnerships. Heather has a track record in organisational development and with a background as an Occupational Therapist working with adults in children with a range of needs across Health, Local Government and the third sector; she is well placed to support Cosgrove in its next stage of development.
Heather’s appointment was overseen by both families and people who use Cosgrove’s Services.
Heather says ‘I am really delighted to be joining the team at Cosgrove, there are some challenging times ahead but I am confident that Cosgrove has the skills, commitment and reputation to play a bigger role in delivering high-quality services in Scotland. I am looking forward to meeting staff, families, and people we work with over the coming weeks.’
