Our Team

Chief Executive - Heather Gray

Heather has been Chief Executive of Cosgrove Care since September 2016.  She is a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience of working in Health, Local Government and the Third Sector at a senior level.

Heather has previously been Chief Executive of Who Cares? Scotland, a national organisation working with looked after children, Country Director for Scotland for the Princes Trust and Director for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales for the National Deaf Children’s Society.

She has a special interest in Human Rights and has contributed extensively to the development of health and social care policy and practice on a local and national level throughout her career.  Heather has worked with children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues in her range of roles.  She believes passionately in keeping people at the centre of what we do, in developing new and innovative service models and in seeking positive solutions for the challenges social care faces.

Heather has lead the modernisation of Cosgrove, extending the range and location of our services and  refreshing our strategic vision. She has a central role in supporting and diversifying income, driving improvements in practice and ensuring participation of those we work with is at the centre of our practice.

Heather lives in Lochwinnoch with her family and enjoys walking, travelling and making balloon animals!

Head of Quality and Participation - Lesley Gold

Qualifications: Youth and Community Work/Community Education.

Length of experience: 27 years in learning disability (over 32 years in community work/community based services in general)

Positions held: Various positions from support worker, team leader, services manager, participation and inclusion, learning and development development posts, Area Manager and Regional Manager for the past 10 years to now Head of Services.

Professional/Special Interests: Human Rights and a rights based approach to all our work. People who have a learning disability taking their rightful places in society.  Belief in and aiming for more inclusive communities,  personalising our support services.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: All areas of our services provision.

One fun fact: I once pulled a pint of Murphy’s for Bob Geldof... no really!

Depute Chief Executive - Pauline Boyce

Qualifications: M.A M.Phil (psych)

Length of experience: 22 years senior management experience within the voluntary and statutory sector.

Positions held: Head of Operations (Cosgrove), MCN manager NDCS Scotland, Head of Operations, Scottish Health Council, Healthcare Improvement Scotland Depute Chief Executive, Who Cares? Scotland Depute Director, Scottish Institute for Residential Child Care at the University of Strathclyde

Professional/Special Interests: My heart has been with Children’s services throughout my career, and much of my focus has been on improving social care services, as well as developing involvement forums, for service users and staff.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: Driving organisational development, visibility and efficiency, implementation and development of effective systems.

One fun fact - I’m a champion dancer!

Director of Finance & Corporate Services - Shirley Love

Qualifications: HND Accountancy. Qualified by experience.

Length of experience: (Too long!) 34 years

Positions held Last 3 posts: Finance and Core Operations Director (Market Research Company), Business Manager (Independent School), Head of Finance and Corporate Services (Cosgrove)

Professional / special interests: Most of my spare time is spent on my Church and chauffeuring my youngest daughter. I am Treasurer and head up the finance committee of my Church. Attend a weekly boxercise class and hopefully will try and keep the running going.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: Obviously finance ensuring that we operate efficiently and effectively and also assisting with the need to diversify our income stream.

One fun fact: this was difficult (as I am obviously a boring accountant!) but needs to be ‘Kissing Donny Osmond’ my pop idol when I was young.

Service Manager, Child & Adult Outreach and Supported Employment - Elizabeth Grant

Qualifications: BA in Community Education and SVQ in Management.

Length of experience: 27 years’ experience

Positions held Last 3 posts: Sessional and support worker before going travelling and then in 2000 Manager of Child Services and from 2016 manager in adult services/supported employment whilst overseeing the running of the retail aspect.(no longer-Pauline now) Transition added in 2017.

Professional / special interests: Singing in Choirs and played piano to Grade 5 level. Love live gigs and baking.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: Interested in staff development and autism work.

One fun fact: Recently did 60 miles cycle with minimal training and get up a lot of Sundays at 7am to cycle up the Mearns Road!

PA to Chief Executive - Jacqueline Blair

I started my working life in education, working at Stow College (now Glasgow Kelvin) for fifteen years.  After leaving the college I travelled around Spain for six months before returning home.

I joined Cosgrove Care in 2014 in Child Services moving to PA to CEO in 2017. I also work for my families construction firm and in my spare time enjoy going to the horse racing.

Service Manager, Supported Living - Mairi Monaghan

Qualifications: SVQ in Health and Social Care and Honours Degree in English and Politics.

Length of experience: 22 years’ experience

Positions held Last 3 posts: Support Worker with Key, then Team Leader, moving into an Assistant Development Manager role after that.

Professional / special interests: I love music and going to see bands live as well as walking and reading.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: Managing Cosgrove’s Supported Living service; enabling the people we support to live fulfilling lives. I have an interest in building confidence and capacity within our support worker teams.

One fun fact: I was the first female member of my school’s Former Pupil Association – previously the school was an all-boys school which amalgamated with our all-girls school!

Length of experience: 10 years experience of working in HR across a number of sectors

Positions held: Senior Business Partner- within a growing,  acquisitive dental group operating throughout Scotland; HR Manager - Within a leading provider of Residential Child Care and Education; Senior HR Advisor - Within a leading provider of Residential Child Care and Education

Professional/Special Interests: I enjoy keeping up with changes in Legislation and best Practice within HR via forums, webinars and training sessions and connecting with other HR professionals. Outwith work I enjoy walking, swimming and travelling.

Specific area of focus/interest within Cosgrove: Employee engagement and wellbeing

One fun fact: I previously worked in the travel industry and have worked in six different countries.
