Assistant Team Leader - Supported Living

Job Title:  Assistant Team Leader

Department:  Supported Living

Salary:  £29,744 per annum plus on-call allowance

Hours:  40 hours plus the expectation of evening & weekend as required

Location:  Individual Service, Newton Mearns

Are you looking for your next challenge social care? Are you experienced in social care management and have a good knowledge of positive behaviour support and implementing person centred behaviour strategies?  If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead and manage an individual service for a young woman being supported in her own home with complex needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide leadership, oversight and direction to a dedicated team and work with the broader multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team to ensure support, protocols and systems are in place to allow this individual to live a safe, full life in the community, whilst also offering direct support.

Support Worker

Cosgrove is a leading learning disability charity dedicated to helping people with additional support needs fulfil their ambitions and achieve their goals. We provide a care at home service in Giffnock and the surrounding areas. We deliver innovative services, which empower people to increase their independence and improve their opportunities in life.

As our ideal candidate, you will have the ability to provide a person centred and creative approach to working with the people we support to enable them to live the lives they want. You should be non-judgmental, possess good communication skills and have the availability to work flexible hours, which could include evenings, sleepovers and weekends.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member or to make an application for the PVG scheme and undertake registration with the SSSC.

Assistant Team Leader - Weekend Warriors

Salary: £29,744 FTE

Hours: 16 per week (Saturday & Sunday)

We are looking for a special type of person who has the ability to juggle all sorts of different priorities, while at the same time ensuring that a personal service is being delivered to the people we support.

Working as a key member of Outreach Children’s Service this role will focus on the delivery of high-quality group and individual support to children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs attending our Weekend Warriors club.

You will be responsible for leading a diverse team of support workers, ensuring they are equipped to provide quality care and deliver innovative activities that meet the needs of the children who use our services.  You will play a key role in the design and delivery of our children’s programme, supporting children and young people with a diverse range of needs. You will manage any incidents, accidents, safeguarding or staff practice issues in line with Cosgrove’s policies and procedures. You will liaise with families and carers updating them on the children’s engagement as well as any health and wellbeing issues or concerns.

Support Worker - Adult Outreach Services

We’re looking for dedicated, compassionate Support Workers to join our Adults Outreach Services team. You’ll play a vital role in helping adults with additional support needs explore new opportunities, learn new skills and build meaningful lives based on their own individual goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Support individuals to live independently, learn new skills, and achieve personal outcomes.
  • Help plan and take part in engaging, meaningful activities that promote confidence and wellbeing
  • Be a trusted companion and advocate, making a lasting impact in someone’s life.

What we’re Looking for:

  • A person-centred, creative approach to support
  • Empathy, patience and great communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and may be asked to support people we support on holiday.

Desirable Skills:

  • SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or Promoting Independence (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Experience supporting adults or children with additional needs

Job Details:

  • Salary: £12.60/ hour
  • PVG Scheme Membership and SSSC Registration Award required
  • We have a number of flexible contracts to suit your neeeds and can be discussed at interview
  • You must have the right to work in the UK and we are not offering sponsorships

Weekend Warriors Support Worker - Children’s Services

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Hours: 9.45am-4.30pm Saturday and/or Sunday

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate, creative?  Do you work well in a team?

Cosgrove Care is a vibrant Scottish Charity with a strong vision and commitment to delivering the very best support for children, young people and adults who have additional support needs.  We are friendly, ambitious, and innovative in our approach to helping the people we support to live their best lives.

We are looking for support workers to join our group-based programme for children and young people who have additional support needs.

The role involves:

  • Providing 1:1 child centered support within a small group setting
  • Promoting and supporting different methods of communication
  • Accessing a range of varied activities in a safe nurtured environment
  • Promoting an active lifestyle with physical activity
  • Meeting sensory needs through creative play
  • Encouraging choices within activity for child led play
  • Adhering to robust infection control measures

Previous experience would be an advantage, however full training and support will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to be a member or to make an application for the PVG scheme and undertake registration with the SSSC.

Support Staff for Adult Services: 2 x 25 hours

Adult services are designed to cater to a broader range of needs for 18 onwards  including creative, social, and emotional support. Activities like music groups and drama classes offer adults creative outlets and opportunities for social interaction, enhancing their quality of life and providing a sense of community. In addition to these activities, adult services often include complex support and personal care. This may involve assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management, as well as specialized support for those with physical disabilities, mental health challenges, or chronic illnesses. These services aim to promote independence, ensure safety, and improve the overall well-being of adults by addressing their unique health and care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and assistance to clients
  • Assist with daily activities and personal development
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored care plans
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in social care or support work preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
  • Relevant certifications or training a plus
  • Driving Licence preferred but not necessary
