2025 Cosgrove Care Art Exhibitions
Made possible with funding by Inspiring Scotland- Autistic Adult Support Fund and Age Scotland.
In 2025 Cosgrove Care had the privilege of hosting two separate Art Exhibitions featuring the original works of individuals supported with learning disabilities by the charity.
The first exhibition was hosted at Eastwood Park Theatre and was opened on Thursday July 3rd. The opening ceremony was attended by over 70 visitors and was launched with passionate speeches by CEO Heather Gray, Co-Chair Donny Lyons, Arts Facilitator Susan Kennedy, and East Renfrewshire Provost Mary Montigue. The exhibition ran at the theatre for a total of three weeks and delighted those who attended and viewed the vibrant gallery of original artworks completely created by supported individuals within the charity.

I am really delighted to open this special exhibition of vibrant artwork which really celebrates success, positivity and potential. Cosgrove Care has been delivering high quality care and support in our community for 65 years and the exhibition gives inspiration to us all and reminds us of the potential of every member of our community.

The art exhibition’s core theme was celebrating the world around us, an idea brough to life by the 23 artists who participated and provided the gallery with over 80 original paintings. This work wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous efforts of Cosgrove’s Art Facilitator, Susan Kennedy, who has worked with the organisation for over 15 years. Together, Susan and the artists continue to grow their skills and talents, allowing supported individuals within Cosgrove new avenues to showcase and express themselves, and to participate and engage in the arts by learning new mediums and techniques.
This was showcased beautifully in the original artworks created which you can view a selection of below:
Susan has really helped me become a better artist, I am really proud of my artwork and I am more confident in expressing myself.’
Art Exhibition: The Reflections of Autumn
The second art exhibition was hosted in October and launched the same night as our Tribute Concert fundraising event, surprising and pleasing guests with a beautiful arrangement of Autumn themed paintings. All original works were created with acrylic paint on canvas by individuals supported by the charity. The exhibition was once again generously hosted by the Eastwood Park theatre and ran from November 2nd until the 12th and among the attendees to the exhibition was MP Blair McDougal pictured below.
It is always positive to share in the fantastic work of local artists supported by Cosgrove Care. It is one of my favourite places to be and I am impressed by the talents of the artists and what they have achieved.
The artists had the opportunity to sell their paintings at the end of the exhibition and in doing so supported the charity by raising funds. The money raised during these exhibitions allows us to continue funding art classes and purchasing materials needed to continue running the sessions, as well as showcasing the incredible talents and potential of people with learning disabilities when given opportunities in creative fields.
Cosgrove Care is committed in it’s mission to continue pursuing the arts and it’s ability to enrich the lives of the people we support and our local communities both as a learning experience, and sharing the joy of art. We are grateful to the amazing people and funders who made these exhibitions possible, to the incredible artists themselves who poured their skills and passion into the works they created, and to everyone who supported and attended the exhibitions.
We plan to continue running these exhibitions into 2026 and to continue to nurture and grow the skills of the artists supported by the charity.
