Cosgrove Theatre Players: ‘The Misfits’ Performance
Funding provided by: The National Lottery Community Fund: Improving Lives
In October 2025 the Cosgrove Theatre Players were proud to present their original performance ‘The Misfits’. The performance which was planned by drama facilitator Clare Hume, debuted at Hutcheson’s Grammars School on Thursday 23rd October 2025 after a year of hardwork and practice by the Theatre Players.
The wonderful journey of this ongoing drama project can be viewed below in the following presentations, we hope you take the time to view them in their entirety as the dedicatation and hardwork of all involved cannot be understated.
“As a teacher, a facilitator, an artist, I have grown along with the participants. We learn from one other. We let the individuals discover for themselves where their strengths lie. There is no ceiling on expectations.”
– Clare Hume, Drama Facilitator
Next is a presentation called ‘HERE I AM THE WANDERING BALLOON’ showcasing the free flowing techniques the performers used to get into a positive mindspace, to freely express themselves and reduce performance anxiety. We hope you will enjoy this video presentation.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank Clare Hume our Drama Facilitator for her hardwork and dedication to the arts and our commitment to giving everyone the opportunity to freely express themselves through the arts and drama. We strongly believe this is vital work and enriches the lives of not only the participants and performers and but in enlightening the public on the power the arts has on everyone.
We would also like to thank Helena Ohman for capturing the video for the wonderful presentations and for helping with the production of the show.
We were delighted that over one hundred of Cosgrove’s community of families, friends’ and people we support attended the show. We raised over £550 on the night from our raffle, programmes, and our 65th anniversary merchandise sales which will go towards supporting our ongoing drama work. Drama is a powerful art that allows individuals to excel, focus on their talents, and grow in confidence. Clare is highly skilled in drawing out each performer’s potential, nurturing individuals’ strengths and talents to create something unique, and special. A huge thanks to filmmaker Helena Ohman for the fantastic soundscapes and for filming the live performance and capturing the magic of ‘The Misfits’!
– Heather Gray, CEO of Cosgrove Care at the time
On the night of the performance the Provost Mary Montague of East Renfrewshire and Co-Chair of Cosgrove Care, Donny Lyons opened the show with a round of speeches, we would like to thank them for their time and contributions, and for continuing to support the arts at Cosgrove Care. You can watch both opening speeches at the video below.
