We wanted the community of people we are supporting with shopping, prescriptions, and friendship calls who are predominantly shielding to know we are thinking of them during this difficult time of restricted freedom.
We thought a scented piece of soap was an ideal well-being gift. A way of bringing a little bit of nature, the outdoors, indoors so to speak. You may not be able to travel, but a lavender-scented soap can evoke thoughts of the flowering season of the Provence lavender fields! Or the invigorating fresh air scent of the Scots pine, our national tree. Close your eyes and you could be ambling through a wooded forest of the glorious Glen Afric.
And of course, the humble soap has become an icon of the pandemic, as frequently washing our hands is now a daily ritual!
The soap is all hand made using natural vegan ingredients from a local Renfrewshire company, Clydesdale soap.
Each soap was accompanied by an individual handwritten letter, beautifully crafted by our volunteer David.
A big thank you to our volunteer Thomas for delivering the soaps yesterday.
