Support for Young Adults with Learning Disabilities
We support many people who have been assigned a key worker in Child Services, and then stayed with Cosgrove for many years and as a result are now supported by our Adult Services. In the future we hope to create a new department called Transition Services which will support young people aged approximately 17 to 25.
For people with learning disabilities any transition is difficult but particularly that time of their life when they want, need and/or are expected to learn key life skills. At Cosgrove we recognise the stresses of this period in our clients' lives and aim to make the transition from Child to Adult Services as smooth and as easy as possible.
The support we offer young people includes college groups, music and art groups, and practical life skills training.
