Cosgrove decided to “make a day of it”, so in the evening, ABBA Fever, a popular ABBA Tribute Group, entertained everyone at Eastwood Park Theatre.
Richard Kaye, the volunteer who organised the event said, “ABBA Fever was fantastic. They really interacted very well with the audience and got everyone singing along. I had been nervous about ticket sales, but that was unfounded as the event was a sell-out. In fact, because everyone had such a good time I am looking to organise a similar event for Cosgrove sometime next year, so watch this space.”
Nicola Diamond of Cosgrove Care said “There were raffles at the Big Day Out and ABBA Fever concert which raised over £500. Raising this amount of money was only possible because so many local business and individuals donated such fantastic prizes. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Slaters Menswear; Curves; Mearns Castle Golf Academy; Sportykids; Giffnock Dry Cleaners; Hodgkinson the Jewellers; September Skies; Mr Singh’s; Sainsbury’s; Julie Lyall; Paramount Design and Greens.”
Cosgrove’s chief executive, Walter Hecht said: “On Sunday, over £2,000 was raised for Cosgrove Care. This was only possible because of Linda and Richard’s commitment and dedication. I would like to say how grateful everyone at Cosgrove is for the time they both put into arranging the day’s events.”
Cosgrove Care is always looking for volunteers to help run fundraising events. Anyone considering volunteering for Cosgrove’s Fundraising Team should contact Cosgrove’s Community Fundraising Officer, Nicola Diamond.
